Debbi D. Miller is the Owner/Director of Dance Image and has been teaching dance for over 32 years. She began dancing at the age of 4. Over her career she has studied Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Character, Musical Theater and Hule from various studios and teachers. She has choreographed countless musicals or many local high schools and Theaters and has taught at many local schools and dance studios. Of her professional dance career, her favorite performance credits include the Disneyland Parade, Bob Hope USO Tours and a 5 week European Dance Performance Tour.
Debbi earned her BA in Dance form Cal State, Long Beach and opened up her Studio in 1992. She has continued to study and train in the Cecchett Method of Ballet and has gained her Associate with The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and her Licentiate with Cecchetti USA. She is currently serving on the CUSA Western Committee and Bookstore Manager for CUSA. She is the proud mother of 4 children, and after the birth of her fourth child, Debbi began educating herself on children with Special Needs.
Dance Image is her second home, and the students are her second family. Many of her dancers have continued on to Professional careers, attaining degrees in the Arts and working in the Business. She is lucky to have many of these dancers now sharing their talent and expertise with the new generation of students.
Nichole began her dance training at the young age of 3, under the direction of Debbi Miller, at Dance Image. She has successfully passed her Cecchetti Ballet Exams to the Professional Level and is currently working on her Grade 9 Exam and Cecchetti Teaching Certificates. In addition, she has trained in dance at local Colleges as well as taking classes in Hollywood with various top choreographers. For 14 years, Nichole has taught ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop for all ages and levels at Dance Image and through the Whittier and Pico Rivera Parks and Recreation Departments. At competitions, her choreography has won Top Awards.
She loves to share her passion and love of dance and enjoys seeing the excitement in her students eyes and watching her students excel. The dance studio environment promotes a family and friendly environment with relationships formed between dancers of all ages and she believes that this experience is something every dancer will carry with them.
Nichole has a 5 year old daughter who has also begun her dancing career at Dance Image.
BFA in Dance Theater - AMDA
Kathryn Bravo is a versatile professional dancer and artist from Whittier, California. She trained in the Cecchetti Ballet Method and other varieties of Dance Styles at Dance Image. She graduated from AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts and earned her BFA degree in Dance Theater. She has worked with Alexis Carra and Kyle McHargh. She values creative movement in musical jazz to contemporary pop and strives to feed off positive energy and in an organic creative process.
Venus Maureen Fields, also known as Momma Vee by the kids, is an active performer and choreographer. She studied Dance, English and General Arts at Rio Hondo College. Venus teaches Contemporary, Jazz Funk, Ballet, Tap, Modern African and Hip Hop at 3 dance studio and has her own
Dance Program at Dean L. Shively Middle School. She is planning on continuing her education in the hopes of acquiring a BA in Education, as well as Dance, and receive her Teaching Credentials. With class she teaches, she hopes to instill confidence and compassion to her students through dance.
Jeanette Flores O'Brien
BA in Theater and Communication Studies - Whittier College, Certified PBT Instructor
Jeanette began her dance training as a young girl under the direction of Debbi Miller, at Dance Image. She has successfully passed her Cecchetti Ballet Exams and is currently working on her Cecchetti Teaching Certification.
Jeanette is a professional dancer and instructor based in Whittier, Ca. She holds a BA in Theatre and Communication Studies with an emphasis in Acting from Whittier College, where she also spent a semester studying at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia. Other Theatre training includes an Institute Residency with Cornerstone Theater Company based in the LA Arts District. She has a Junior-Advanced Level Certification in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) under the direction of Marie Walton-Mahon. During her senior year in High School and throughout college, she toured as a professional dancer with various recording artists such as Colby O'Donis, Akon, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Lil' Wayne. She has appeared in commercials for First 5 California as well as TV show appearances on Live! With Regis & Kelly, TRL and Good Day LA. She as extensive experience coaching and choreographing for songleading and Dance Teams, having worked in the Whittier, Pico Rivera and El Monte High School Districts. She is currently focused on taking care of her growing young family and fostering local youth, both of which are teaching her a new degree of patience and love.
Graduate - Orange County School of the Arts
Lizzy Green has been dancing since she was 2 years old, and began teacher 2 years ago at the studio where she grew up, The Dance Place. She trained at The Dance Place with emphasis in Theater Dance, as well as in Los Angeles and New York City studying all different styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, modern, Fosse, pointe, and hip hop. She attended the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) for theater, dancing with the premiere performing group, "Montage!", alongside famous OCSA alumni such as Matthew Morrison. Lizzy also trained with the Radio City Rockettes for two summers in New York City in the Rockets Summer Intensive. Currently, Lizzy is a student at Whittier College studying Kinesiology, in hopes of applying what she learns to the art of dance and all of her dance classes. She hopes to go on to become an Occupational Therapist for children with special needs, such as Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism.
Before focusing on acting, Jerry began his entertainment career as a professional dancer. His main focus was in Hip Hop, Contemporary and Jazz Funk. As a dancer, Jerry worked with such music video Directors as Joseph Kahn and Paul Hunter and choreographers such as Laurie Ann Gibson and Nadine "Hi-Hat" Ruffin. Since transforming from the dance world into acting, Jerry has appeared on television shows like The Shield, Invasion, Cold Case and The Bridge. He has also appeard in national commercials for JC Penney, Pepsi Next, Coca Cola, IPod, Bud Light, Old Navy, Gap, GMC, Target, Jack in the Box, Best Buy, KFC, Nationwide, Land O'Lakes, and most recently, Dr. Pepper.
Jerry has been sharing his talents with Dance Image for over 10 years and continues to amaze and surprise audiences with his unique and outstandig Hip Hop Themes and choreography.
BA, Whittier College
Julie Mauk is a professional dancer and choreographer. Her love for dancing began at just two years old when she saw Elmo tap dancing on Sesame Street. She started dancing from that day on and has continued to foster her dance education ever since - at Dance Image, on her high school pep squad, and in college with her dance team. she studied Kinesiology at Whittier College and used the Kinesthetics of dance to teach her students and share her passion for dynamic movement and continual growth.
Elysse Nicole has been dancing for 20 years. She was trained by the well known staff of Dance Image and is now proud to be a part of that Staff. Elysse has been trained in tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, pointe, musical theater, acrobatics, parade performance, and Cecchetti ballet. Elysse has completed Cecchetti Examinations Grade 1 through 8, and is currently preparing for the first Teaching Certification exam. By raising a daughter if her own, Elysse has pulled from her own experience in teaching and motherhood to help guide her class curriculum to provide a fun yet informative class for each age group..
Elysse is currently in the process of becoming CPR and First Aid certified. Elysse is attending Mount San Antonio College with a major in Sign Language and Interpreting, with plans to transfer to California State University, Long Beach to receive a Bachelors of Science Degree.
Liz Menendez Suarez
Certification - Fusion Dance
Originally from Havana, Cuba, Liz began dancing at the age of 4. Though her passions are Flamenco and Ballet, she is also trained in many Latin dance styles such as Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Merengue, & Bachata. In addition, she has also studied acting, tap, hip hop and jazz. At age 11, she entered the Dance Academy of the Company Ballet Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, one of the most famous dance companies in the country. She received Flamenco classes and quickly progressed to Junior Company Level. At age 15, Liz was chosen to be part of the company at the adult level, skipping youth, and entered the National School of Arts in the specialty of Fusion Dance. In addition to the regular High School classes, she also received Flamenco, Castanets, Ballet, Stretch and Extensions, Fusion, Cuban Folklore, Choreographic Composition, Music Appreciation, and Dance History. She also taught Flamenco to children from 6 to 16 as part of the prerequisites for graduation. She earned her Certificate of Professional Fusion Dancer and Graduated in Arts at the age of 19. She also participated in different choreographic competitions in Cuba as a dancer and a choreographer, earning Special Top Awards and Best Performances. After her arrival in the U.S. in 2013, she continued dancing and learning Salsa, Flamenco, Ballet, Castanets, tap, pointe and Hip Hop, and Dance Image and at Fullerton College, which she is currently attending.
She has taught Flamenco for a total of 7 years and has also taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Salsa. She absolutely loves to dance and teach. She is currently working on her Grade 5 Exam, having received Honors on all previous exams, and is preparing for her Cecchetti Teaching Certification. This marks her 4th year with Dance Image.
Alondra Perez began her dance career at Dance Image at the age of 7 years old. She fell in love with dance and wanted to share her knowledge so she started assisting in classes at the age of 10, began teaching at 12, and has been teaching dance ever since. Alondra has been a part of many musicals, including Cinderella and Annie Get Your Gun, where she was Dance Captain. She is trained in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet, has successfully passed her exams and is currently working on her Grade 8. She currently attends Cal State University, Fullerton, where she is working on receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Her goal is to instill a love and passion for dance into her young artists. She is humbled to be a part of the Dance Image Family, where her love for dance started.
